Red Wing newspaper cutting number of issues

The community newspaper in Red Wing, Minn., announced Wednesday it is reducing its print edition publication schedule to two days a week from five starting Sept. 2.

The Red Wing Republican Eagle said it is cutting its publication days to save money and focus its reporting on its local market.


"So much for the theory that small community newspapers are on such high ground, eh?" writes a reader who pointed out this story (reminder: we won't print names unless you say it's ok) and added the Morris paper is going from two editions down to one.
