Peladeau: Local content, new technology way of the future

The head of the largest media company in Canada says savings from cost-cutting measures will be poured back into community papers to improve local content.

Whether a newspaper as a paper product remains part of the future of the industry is unknown, Pierre Karl Peladeau, president and CEO of Quebecor Media Inc., said yesterday.

"You can do more interesting layouts in print than you can on the screen, but we don't know what the future will be," Peladeau said in an interview with the Whig-Standard.
