Maintaining News Standards in a Fast-Changing World

I soon learned that all of the pragmatic advice about steering away from the profession was worthy of consideration. Those who own newspaper chains are only interested in profit. For them, it's not about accuracy, integrity, truth or even "the public's right to know," which journalism school taught me provides the basis for our profession.

The "meanies" at the corporate office are knocking our traditional news machines to their knees or, worse, hacking them to death.
