The Bellingham Herald announces staff cut

Whatcom County’s daily newspaper continues to make changes in order to adjust to the economic recession.
Glen Nardi, president and publisher of The Bellingham Herald, announced to the staff on Monday, June 8 several measures that will reduce expenses. This includes the institution of a week-long unpaid furlough for each employee – to be taken between July and September – in addition to the elimination of five positions, including one in the newsroom.
