Kennebec Journal workers OK concessions

Members of the union that represents workers at the Kennebec Journal voted today to accept a package of concessions sought by the company buying that publication and others owned by Blethen Maine Newspapers.

The union, the Communication Workers of America, represents 85 workers at the Journal, including pressmen, copy editors, reporters and circulation and advertising employees.

Union officials said they would not release the vote tally. They also withheld details of the concessions because the deal has not been completed.
