News editors group drops `paper' from name

The American Society of Newspaper Editors has voted to drop "paper" from its name to reflect the industry's shift online.

The group, founded in 1922 to represent the editors of U.S. daily newspapers, will become the American Society of News Editors. Nearly three-quarters of its roughly 600 members voted in favor of the new name, which was proposed late last year.
