Despite threat, Globe yet to fire a WARN-ing shot

The Boston Globe and its out-of-town owner have yet to file a federally mandated notice warning that they plan to close or have mass layoffs at the Hub broadsheet, despite the New York Times [NYT] Co.’s threats to shut it down.

The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act is a federal labor law that requires most employers with more than 100 employees to give 60 days’ notice of plant closings and mass layoffs.
