Seattle P-I staff contemplates unemployment

Seattle's oldest daily newspaper could cease publication any day now, after 146 years. It's more than just a business story or a metaphor for a failing industry, it's about people living and working in the community.

What does it feel like to work at the same place for 28 years, rising to the top of your profession, and then learning it's going out of business? "It's like getting hit by a chunk of loose viaduct," said sports columnist Art Thiel.
