Ohio's biggest paper, Plain Dealer, cuts staff pay

Ohio's largest newspaper, The Plain Dealer, on Monday ordered pay cuts and 10-day furloughs for nonunion employees to reduce costs as its advertising revenue drops.

Publisher Terrance C.Z. Egger said the newspaper had no plans to cut publication dates or change to a Web-only product, moves taken by other newspapers. The Plain Dealer previously reduced staffing by layoffs and buyouts.
