Janesville Gazette to switch to morning newspaper

After 164 years as an afternoon paper, The Janesville Gazette will publish in the mornings starting next month, a company executive said Wednesday.

Sidney H. Bliss, the chief executive and president of Gazette publisher Bliss Communications, said the change will go into effect April 27.

"We believe that readers and advertisers will benefit from having daily news and advertising information available at the beginning of the day," he said.

The move isn't expected to result in employee layoffs.
