Forum cutting 25, Grand Forks Herald 8

The Forum says it is eliminating 25 more full-time jobs and the Grand Forks Herald is cutting eight.

Both newspapers are owned by Forum Communications Co. The announcement of the cuts Thursday cited deteriorating economic conditions.

The cuts at the Forum follow 21 layoffs announced last month at North Dakota's largest newspaper. Forum officials said those layoffs amounted to 9 percent of the newspaper's work force. They said The Forum had the equivalent of 240 full-time employees.
