Transcontinental cuts jobs

There have been more job losses in the newspaper industry, with Transcontinental making cuts to its workforce at its daily and weekly newspapers across Nova Scotia.

Five people have been let go in the northern Nova Scotia group, which includes the Truro Daily News, the News in New Glasgow, the Amherst Daily News and weeklies in Springhill, Amherst and Sackville, N.B.

Mr. Russell said the losses are across all sections of the operations: an editor, reporter and production worker in Truro; a reporter in New Glasgow; and a production worker in Sackville.
