Morning Call cuts at least 22 jobs

Another round of layoffs hit The Morning Call, the Lehigh Valley's largest newspaper.

The company eliminated at least 22 jobs in seven departments, according to documents the company provided to employees receiving severance packages. That's 3.2 percent of the company's overall workforce of about 695 people.

"We did eliminate some positions (yesterday) as we continue to reduce costs where possible in this poor economic environment," publisher Tim Kennedy said in a statement.

Most of the cuts were in the company's advertising and circulation departments.
