Jersey Journal May Cease Publication in April

The Evening Journal Association announced to its employees today that the company would cease publication of the Journal and its weekly papers on April 13, 2009, if its revenue is not sufficient to support the papers’ reduced expense plan. Similar threats were made seven years ago, but obviously the paper did not close.

“We understand how important it is for Hudson County to have a strong local newspaper and we’ll be doing everything we can to make sure we can continue to provide that service,” publisher Kendrick Ross said.
