A.H. Belo posts 4th straight loss

Dallas-based newspaper company A.H. Belo Corporation lost $33.1 million in the fourth quarter, the company said Tuesday, its fourth consecutive quarterly loss since it became an independent company in early 2008.

A. H. Belo, which owns The Dallas Morning News and three other daily newspapers, lost $1.62 per share between October and December as advertising revenue continued to drop.

In the last three months of 2008, total revenue fell 15 percent, including a 22 percent decline in advertising – broadly in line with declines at other newspaper companies.
