The wide reach of the Internet can help us improve everything we do

Last year, I did this by getting a handful of volunteers to sit on a focus group. It was an invaluable experience that provided me with feedback and perspective that I don't always get from my office chair.

The eight people who gave so generously of their time also weren't holding back when it came to opinion. Much of what they had to say is now reflected on the pages of the Nanaimo Daily News.

There was one drawback, however: they were newspaper readers. With the emphasis on paper.

They weren't so interested in an electronic version of anything.
