South Tahoe paper will publish only three days a week

The Tahoe Daily Tribune will reduce its days of publication from five to three effective Feb. 2 due to increases in the cost of newsprint and the sour national economy, its publisher said in Friday’s edition.

The paper founded in 1958 and now owned by the Reno-based Swift Communications will be published on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays instead of the current schedule of Monday through Friday,’ publisher Mary Jurkonis said.

An e-mail newsletter available free to anyone who registers for it will be sent on Mondays with a recap of weekend news and sports, slideshows, photo galleries, crossword and sudoku puzzles, she said.
