Optimism for Newspaper Industry Despite Cutbacks, Layoffs

Erin Toner talks about the state of the business on Milwaukee Public Radio:

It’s been a tough year for the newspaper industry, including here in Wisconsin. Fewer people are subscribing to newspapers and businesses are spending less on print advertising. That’s forced several papers in the state to lay off employees and move more content to online editions. Peter Fox is executive director of the Wisconsin Newspaper Association. Despite the cutbacks – and forecasts that print editions will soon be a distant memory – Fox is optimistic about the industry’s future.
