Post-Gazette to print final edition

The Wrightstown Post-Gazette, a weekly newspaper produced jointly by the Green Bay Press-Gazette and The Post-Crescent of Appleton, will publish its final edition Dec. 12.

The decision to shut down the weekly newspaper — launched in December 2004 — was made in response to a downturn in the economy and declining advertising revenue.

Its readers will continue to be served by publications in the Green Bay Press-Gazette family, including the daily newspaper and the weekly Community Snapshots.

The elimination of the Post-Gazette is one of many changes announced this week as part of nationwide cutbacks by the Gannett Co., parent of the Press-Gazette, Post-Gazette and Post-Crescent. The Denmark Press will cease publication on Dec. 18.
