Journalism endures at Searchlight

It has been a bad year for newspapers. But it has been a good year for journalism at the Record Searchlight.

With the company that owns the Chicago Tribune and the LA Times now bankrupt, both Detroit newspapers planning to stop publishing on a press four days a week and the Record Searchlight's parent company putting its largest newspaper (Denver's Rocky Mountain News) up for sale, it's no surprise that our newsroom is smaller than it once was. This is reality in a bad economy and a changing industry.
