Desperate newspaper industry needs innovative focus on jobs

Good news. I figured out how to save journalism.

Okay, so I'm exaggerating. But the title of this blog is "Michigan Business Innovation," and if there's one industry that needs innovation more than ever, it's newspapers.

We know that daily papers are struggling mightily - and some surely face imminent closure unless they perform a miracle. Basically every day newspapers throughout the country announce layoffs, buyouts and other cuts.

Alas, I've got a revolutionary idea that I believe daily newspapers should embrace today. It's an idea that could revolutionize the image of daily papers, challenge their traditional revenue model and cause readers to beg for subscriptions.
